Plastic Q-Pack used in Biological treatment

Q-pack’s large pore volumes and surface areas make it an ideal media for biological treatment of drinking water. Bio filter processes are excellent for treating raw water containing ammonia, manganese, iron etc. Tests have shown that Q-pack works perfectly in these kinds of processes.

In conventional filtration processes Q-pack can be used in different ways. In dual media filters Q-pack can be used in combination with sand. Tests have shown that Q-pack operates as well as or better than traditional filter media in these types of filters.

Q-pack can not only be used in traditional drinking water treatment, but also in treatment of saline water. In desalination plants one of the most important parts is the pre-treatment process. A-pack is an excellent filter media for use in pre-treatment filters in desalination plants.

Q-pack is suitable for use in different effluent water treatment processes, both for municipal and industrial effluents, such as: Biological treatment, Tertiary filtration, Odour treatment.

Tri -pack was designed by Jager Tri. The advantage of tri -pack is no big surface area. The distinctive shaping of ribs, struts and drip rods tri packs tower packing media superior wetting characteristics, and the ability to maintain uniform liquid distribution throughout the bed.

In the traditional theory of mass transfer, we often think big surface area will increase the mass transfer efficiency. Sometimes, excess surface area can impede gas/liquid contact and create higher pressure drops. Finally, it will lead to Packing’s channel blocking. Based on this new understanding, Jager invented Tri-pack.

Basically the packing provides maximum surface contact between the gas & the scrubbing liquid by facilitation through continuous formation of droplet by the packed bed. It was recognized best packing in air stripping, de-gasifier and scrubber.
